Whoa... lost a few days in there while my life took a new adventure, but I'm not complaining. I've been pretty good with food. At my bbq on Sunday I only had one turkey dog, a few pieces of zuccini and didn't overdo it with chips and salsa. Had a few beers, but mostly just diet dr. pepper. HAHA I'm a dork, ah well. But yeah, life is a little crazy and I'm going to try to do more mobile blogging for this particular blog so that I really am keeping track of all of my food intake.

I didn't even record all the crap I ate last night because there was just entirely too much to keep track of. Nothing was really "unhealthy" but the amounts that I gobbled down were just uncool. I am losing steam. I really need motivation.
I'm getting my you-know this week, so I'm feeling extra icky... but seriously, in general, I just feel like crap.
I got sunburned yesterday and that makes me NOT want to go workout... my skin is just going to hurt. UGG. I'll go...

I'm getting anxious... I know 100 days is a lot of time, but I cheated and weighed myself~ NO change!! I'll still weigh myself tomorrow, but ugg. I should really be seeing 1-2lbs a week if I'm doing things right. So, I'm not doing something right =/
I will be drinking at least 2 litres of water daily (not including water consumed during work outs).
I am going to pick back up the Beck Diet Solution and get back to practicing those good habbits:

I'm a quarter of the way through my challenge... but I still have a long way to go. 100 days is a pretty long challenge. I know I probably could have really pushed myself to do a challenge like this in a much shorter period of time but I think this more drawn-out process will help to reset my brain with all of the positive habits that need to be part of my regular routine and I will be more likely to continue with the healthy lifestyle well after my 100 days are over.

I couldn't fall asleep last night... around 3am my stomach was growling like CRAZY so I decided to get up. I drank a big glass of water but decided I wanted to eat something... so, being the very random-type craving person I am I had:
-another salsa/black bean/spinach/zero point tortilla wrap
-tortilla & 1 tsp PB
I know I'm not working out tonight, but I will be mountain biking tomorrow and sunday (and probably some hiking) so I'm going to pack my food for the weekend carefully and do my best to really be good so that next week's weigh-in shows progress.
Then when I woke up this morning, again I felt EXTREMELY hungry.

I really want to drink a LOT of water today, so my goal is 2 litres while at work. I need to buy more crystal light or the like because it really helps me down water faster....otherwise I'm slow and slack on my water intake.

There have been BOXES of donuts in the break room all flippin day. WHY can't the perks committee ever offer healthy snacks?! Seriously, it's almost painful how badly the smell of that fried dough makes me want to stuff my face...NOT the easiest environment for a recovering o.e. I have don't really well at resisting so far today (one more hour at work to go), but dang... I'm craving sugar!!

my struggle
People ask me why I record everything I eat... why am I doing this.
Well, as you know (if you've been following along) I used to be fat (I'm trying to find more pictures so that I can share). And well, for a long time I had a serious problem. An addiction of sorts. I am, and will always be (as any former addict is), a recovering Compulsive Over Eater.
Back before I lost the 60lbs I joined OA = Over-eaters Anonymous. It works just like any other 12 step program.
Wondering what that's like? Well, ask me sometime...rambling about my obsession with food and eating until it hurts isn't what I want to post here.
So, pairing the strength I gained from learning to conquer my addiction with the Beck approach of combining cognitive therapy with changing the way I eat, worked for me...I reframed my way of thinking and practiced great habbits, which allowed me to find success.
THEN I GOT LAZY (and life was pretty out of whack as I left WI etc but I'll jut own up to my laziness).
Now that I have put my foot down and am piecing the life I WANT together, I have the tools and know what I need to do. I'm doing this on display to the general public because I'm too scared of humiliation to back out when I know people are watching me. So... here I am =)

I plan on going to the gym tonight and getting some cardio time in, also planning on doing lower back and tricep toning while I'm there.

I bit disappointed that the #s aren't changing faster for my weigh-ins. Last time I lost a bunch of weight it felt like every week I was SO pumped because I was seeing the digits decrease... but this time is much slower. It's kind of frustrating but I know I'm doing everything I should be-- I just need to pay more attention to details.
From now on I'll be logging what I eat & my activity as it happens throughout the day, rather than list the activity after the food log. This way I can really look at how I'm laying out my day. I will mark where in the daily layout I finish each litre of water as well... this needs to be a big focus for me as I know I tend to get snack-y when I'm dehydrated.

Not sure if I'll make it to the gym tonight because I'm going to start training by observing/co-facilitating a group tonight with my new company... but I'm hoping to make it to the gym LATE for at least a little while on the eliptical trainer-- since tomorrow is my weekly weigh-in I really want to try and get a workout in the night before my morning scale-session =)
FOOD.
Breakfast.
FlatOut (flatbread tortilla) w/ 2 Tbs of PB
Snack.
1/2 pink grapefruit
10 saltine crackers
Lunch.
SmartOne meal (2pts)
2 light string cheese
1/2 pink grapefruit.
Snack.
150 calories of beef jerky (after such a long day working I NEEDED protein before hitting the gym)
Dinner.
BIG SALAD. Dark greens, black beans, salsa, 1/2 avacado, 2 Tbs ranch, fiber, vinegar, basil & oregano
Water goal? YES!
ACTIVITY.
Gym. 5 minute bike warm up.
25 minutes Random on sitting bike -200 calories
10 minutes Random on elyptical trainer + 5 minute cool down -150 calories
Unplanned.
Nothing that sticks out today...

Zero Points
On the old WeightWatchers point system (not the new points plus) I found a lot of ZERO POINT FOODS!! OMG and I love them... points are determined by balancing calories, fat and fiber.
50 calories = 1 point
12 grams of fat = 1 point
5 grams of fiber = -1 point
So... of course all the green vegitables are zero... superfoods like blackberries and blueberries are zero... natural apple sauce etc...
Since WW didn't count half points, you do have to be careful with some zero point finds because when you eat enough of them, they do become points.
So... a few fabulous ZERO (or almost) POINT FOODS to check out!!

Crazy day of catch-up-with-life... had my follow up interview and GOT THE NEW JOB! Eeep! So pumped. Life is so good lately. Dating, weather, snowboarding, great friends, new job... YEAH!!!!
Ok, so today.
I went for my body wrap, but I think I was stressing pretty hard about if I was going to get this new job or not... I got SO many hot spots. They were adding layers of washclothes all over me but my body just wasn't having it. So, after 30 minutes (they are usually 50) I had them just end my session. I still feel very good, I sweat out a lot and will go back at it next week.
FOOD.
Day.
3 FiberOne granola bars
1 apple
1 pear
1 flat bread (1pt) w/spray butter, splenda and cinnamon (mmm)
Dinner.
Best Salad Ever: 6oz beef tendertoin (cut off all fat before cooking)
LOTS of dark greens
1 anaheim pepper
4oz salza
2 Tbs real ranch dressing w/4 Tbs vinegar, loads of fiber powder and cilantro
2oz grated cheese (I normally don't add this but I was celebrating)
1oz pine nuts
Dessert.
2 flatbread tortillas w/PB
ACTIVITY.
Gym.
15 minutes Random on stationary bike -180 calories
20 minutes on Treadmill (ran for 4 minutes... longest I've actually RUN in forever!) - 200 calories
Leg lifts and lower ab work on the mat
Unplanned.
Parked far away at the grocery store and job interview.
