Well, tonight, as it happens at least once a week... I cannot sleep.
To make things worse, I'm PMSing so my cravings have been through the roof! If that's TMI for anyone, then you probably shouldn't read my blog. Anyhow, I'm up and after my splurge last night with junk I have been really down on myself. I have BIG goals for July and I'm failing so far. To make things worse, I am failing big time on the day I decide to go public with my journey and shared my link on facebook. Fuuuuuuuu!
I've been overwhelmed with the encouraging messages of congrats on my progress and the notes from friends, former classmates and followers letting me know that I have inspired them. I am SO touched and really, that motivates me. I'm just having a rough one. After the emo BS that went down Sunday, and my hormones being all over the place... I just want to be able to relax and focus.
I will track the oats I've eaten on Tuesday's food log. I plan to TRY to get some sleep and then really kicking my butt at the gym. Like, no slacking, I need to pretend a trainer is in my face and do the exercises I never do on my own, but know I should. The ones that are HARD and I struggle with... the ones that I feel for days after... the ones that work. My goal is to do 2 of the NTC HIIT workouts while at the gym. I might die HAHA but I need to work off being bad.
I've been hovering around the same weight for weeks now because of cheating and lack of focus. IT'S CRUNCH TIME!!! July goals are still attainable. I HAVE TO DO THIS! I know I'm always a little heavier "this week" so we'll see next week for weigh-in Wednesday, but seriously, I need to flush out the bad and rev up my furnace...get this body moving!
P.S.
Sleep is SO important in weight loss. I'll do a whole blog post about that... but for now, I need to try again.

Transformation/Transition Photos
Ok, so here's a spread... me at my heaviest (215 in 2007), then just about my leanest (from just diet, not working out ~ September 2009)... and where I am now (175+). Sorry I really don't have any photos of where I started in March of this year (196.6)--all the pictures I was taking were "smart angles" :-/
My goal now is to get leaner and show more muscle definition all over (and to balance out my build). I've kept this bathing suit with the sole purpose of taking progress photos.
Here's a face comparison from March to today (sorry, I just snapped a quick one lol)

This morning's weigh-in made me feel good... but I still need to up my game. This whole "only seeing a lower number every other week" thing isn't ok. I want to see that number drop.
I know I'm building some muscle but I'm just retoning what I already have. We all know I'm already buff enough HAHA. I clearly have another 15 pounds of body fat that I can shed...and I will. I am.
I'm not planning on working out today. It's my last day at my old job!! I have my body wrap today (since yesterday I forgot my clothes). I might go for a walk or something this evening once I get home if it's nice out.
TODAY.
1 tortilla (7:00)
1 Tbs PB
1 tortilla
spray butter, splenda & cinnamon
-
1 medium granny smith apple (9:30)
1 high fiber granola bar
-
2 light string cheese (11:00)
1 litre water
-
Subway salad (12:00)
Greens, veggies
Honey mustard and vinegar (no oil, no fat)
oregano &pepper
-
FormoStar body wrap (1:30)

I bit disappointed that the #s aren't changing faster for my weigh-ins. Last time I lost a bunch of weight it felt like every week I was SO pumped because I was seeing the digits decrease... but this time is much slower. It's kind of frustrating but I know I'm doing everything I should be-- I just need to pay more attention to details.
From now on I'll be logging what I eat & my activity as it happens throughout the day, rather than list the activity after the food log. This way I can really look at how I'm laying out my day. I will mark where in the daily layout I finish each litre of water as well... this needs to be a big focus for me as I know I tend to get snack-y when I'm dehydrated.
TODAY.
1 FlatOut flatbread/tortilla
2 Tbs PB
1 Rockstar recovery
-
2 light string cheese
-
Street taco salad: meat from 3 chicken tacos (no tortillas) [I ordered 4 but the old lady working is way more stingy than her husband and gave me significantly less meat than I normally get), lots of lettuce, 1 jalapeno, salsa, 2 Tbs pineapple tidbits, cilantro.

-
1 litre of water
-
1 pear
1/2 litre of water
FiberOne granola bar
-
1/2 turkey club sandwich (no mayo) at Fiddler's Elbow
green salad as my side
1 Epic Amber
1 Full Sail Amber

competition
I'm on track and I feel really good. I woke up this morning and took a minute to check myself out in the mirror... laugh if you will, but a big part of my motivation in this challenge is to look better naked (or nearly). I was in my usual morning garb: a tshirt and chonies...I took off the t-shirt and checked out my "problem areas." Maybe i'm just hallucinating but I feel like they are already starting to tighten up. I feel awesome.
Since today is my 16th day of this challenge, I've officially beat the girl who did the blog http://100daychallenge.blogspot.com/ HAHA~ she posted 15 days and vanished, so that makes me feel good about myself. I know that most people wouldn't agree with my competative nature with this sort of thing, but that's what works for me. I lose motivation when there is no competition other than myself... so, it's little things like that which push me to keep going.
I really like my gym. I go to Planet Fitness. If you haven't seen their commercials, check them out on YouTube and you'll laugh. I really do feel the difference in the "Judgement Free Zone." There are people of all shapes and sizes, all different motivations for being at the gym... and I really like it. There are no meat heads, no grunting... it just feels like a place where I want to sweat my ass off and leave with a smile on my face. I just thought I'd share. If you have one near you, go take a tour...their membership costs are crazy low! If you decide to join, just put me down as your referal source (I have no idea what this does, but I think they do some sort of credit for new accounts or something... couldn't hurt)/

wednesday weigh-in
Today's weight: 177
PROGRESS!!! :-)
That's 6 pounds down from my start, 2 weeks ago. Definitely a safe rate.
I did feel kind of dehydrated this morning so that could be a bit lower than it should be, but I'm always going to record exactly what my little IKEA scale says on Wednesday mornings. I put it in the same place on my kitchen floor and always have on a tshirt and chonies.
My focus for this next week is going to be to up my water intake. I've been trying to drink at least one litre while I'm at work every day, but even that hasn't been happening every day. So, the goal for the next 7 posts is to record if I drink my daily litre at work... I should try to drink 2 a day, but I do best with small-step goals. 1 first, then eventually 2 =)

First 10 days have gone quickly, but I do realize I have a lot of time left. I'm feeling great since I've worked out at the gym for the past 2 days! Having my bicycle is also great since I can run my usual local errands using that instead of driving (gas is stupid expensive these days and I'm not a fan of large carbon footprints). I'm looking online for baskets for the back of my bike that will fit grocery bags so that I really can use my bike all summer around the city.
I probably won't make it to the gym tonight. I would like to, but since I have a doctor's appointment and then dinner plans I don't have time. I'm going tomorrow for sure (unless I get a lift ticket for Brighton). I will make sure I do some core toning at home tonight before bed. I'm looking to buy some ankle weights like the wrist ones I already have, just so that the days I don't make it to the gym, I can do leg toning at home with a bit more intensity than just using my own body weight.
FOOD: (projected for the day...will edit throughout the day if I don't eat everything I brought with me to work etc)
Breakfast.
2 high fiber tortillas (technically zero points! I love these things)
3 tsp peanut butter
Lunch.
SmartOne frozen meal (2pts)
1 red grapefruit
Snack.
1 weightwatchers yogurt
Dinner.
Spicy Chicken salad @ Cheesecake Factory (from their WW section on the menu)
1 Jack & Diet
late snack.
1 tortilla w/pb
ACTIVITY: none =(
12:10am I had a date tonight... and it was a LOT of fun. We just went to dinner and then talked for over 4 hours total HAHA. So, since I had to come home and shower after work and get dressed for dinner, I had to skip the gym...I'll make sure I'm active tomorrow!
